I just love it! Stumbled across the Monarch about a year ago, when I had friends to stay and we had a hilarious night out. Needless to say, when they came to stay again we immediately decided to go and luckily it did not change a bit. Soundtracks is the perfect mix of all kinds of music and you just don't want the music to stop...

The prices are reasonable (considering it's Camden) and the staff really nice. Hopefully it's not taking another year for me to get back and maybe see it in the daylight for a change.

So I've been going to Camden for quite a few many years but it wasn't until a couple of years ago I descovered this little jem of the night. The first time I went was on a Saturday night, soundtracks night, after a few hours of drunken karaoke, and I've never looked back. It never fails to impress. Great value cocktails, good food and an electric atmosphere, there's a reason I've spent the last few New Years eves there. It's effortlessly cool, while indulging in the stickiest of cheesy nostalgia. And you might even spot a few celebs.

Discovered this pub, because Beans On Toast works there and some of my friends really enjoy his music.
Been numerous times there since. I love laid back atmosphere and reasonably priced food, which is actually quite good quality. Beer garden/smoking area is cosy and mostly covered, which is great for a  rainy yet warm summer evenings.

I've lived in Camden for over a year now and I've only got to discover the Monarch about a couple of months ago. It was a special evening: my boyfriend who had been away in Italy for three months was finally back on UK land and we were determined to celebrate. It felt like a first date, and the best kind! The music was cheesy as I like, going from Nickleback to Grease and the Spice Girls. There are arcade games and pool tables. Since then, I also attended a brazilian gig with brazilian BBQ in the back garden: delicious! I do recommend this place. The final plus: it stays open late and is generally free admission.

The pub is very nice but we went there for a Brasilian night and it was a bit disappointing. There was just a barbecue, they could not do cocktails anymore, the band was okay but nothing surprising.... I was a bit disappointed and left before the end, and still a bit hungry. Although, it looks like they have other types of evenings that might be nicer, so I will try again!

Last night at The Monarch in Camden was a really fun night with Brazilian music from Cantar Vocal Ensemble. The sound of Brazilian swing music kept me entertained all evening, there was a really fun, friendly atmosphere in the pub and to top it off a tasty BBQ going on out back which was cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced.

Awesome pub where bands almost perform in the window. Has a garden out the back, and rather a cheeky little upstairs area with seating. Thats my spot when a hot band is playing downstairs.
