After Wagner

Kantanti Ensemble leader, Beatrice Philips, performs Violin Sonatas that show how differently French composers responded to Wagner's music. Claude Debussy staunchly rejected the Wagnerian style, whereas his contemporary César Franck was vocal in his support of this new musical language.
