It's been a while since Al's late-'60s landmarks in jazz vocalese, a canon which has been obscured by a host of often cheesy '70s and '80s soul-funk hits. Here he plays a greatest hits set, like 'Moonlighting' and 'Morning', but don't forget, he can really improvise, mimicking instruments, swinging through Afro-Latin vocal forms and falling back on that gorgeous, soulful tenor.
