Quietly enigmatic Scottish folk visionary Roberts (ex Appendix Out) who was first noticed as a solo proposition with an album of agonisingly slow murder ballads and increasingly flashes the dark humour too many of his detractors have hitherto overlooked. Solo shows have seen him add live looping to his guitar craft to extraordinary effect. Plus striking singer Chaney, who accompanies her dark traditional tales on an Indian harmonium.
