Quietly enigmatic Scottish folk visionary Roberts (ex Appendix Out) who first got noticed as a solo proposition with an album of agonisingly slow murder ballads, increasingly flashes the dark sense of humour too many of his detractors have hitherto overlooked. Solo shows have seen him add live looping to his guitar craft to extraordinary effect. Here for two nights with extremely natural and charismatic performer and Magpie's Nest man Sam Lee, apprentice of the late great Scottish ballad king Stanley Robertson, who recently just won the first ever Arts Council Folk Award.
