A mix of cajon and vocal harmonies come together in the Kent-based headlining acoustic trio Arcelia, for whom former National Youth Jazz Orchestra singer Teresa Gallagher sings. Opening for them are the highly promising Huddersfield quartet Maia with their youthful, spirited, richly atmospheric and intelligently off-centre alt.folk pop. Their lovely new single, 'Zuma Aluma', which was recorded solely on iPhones and edited on an iPad, is the second to be taken from their forthcoming debut LP, 'Pepper Stars', and unsurprisingly scored them a gig at the Regent Street Apple Store on June 26.
