Saxophone legend, playwright and poet Archie Shepp is best known for his work on John Coltrane’s avant-garde ‘Ascension’ as well as his own highly politicised work for Impulse in the late '60s and early '70s. Expect his own peerless take on standards plus the odd radical poem thrown in for good measure.
