New Yorker Arthur Ashin, under the name Autre Ne Veut, treads a similar path to The Weeknd and How To Dress Well with his warm and deeply soulful alternative R&B stylings. He's part of the same North American experimental circle as electronic boundary-pushers Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never) and Tim Hecker, but Ashin's latest album 'Anxiety' is influenced just as strongly by the ’80s and ’90s mainstream as by noughties avant-pop.
