BBC Prom 56: Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Andrew Litton

Part of the Proms concerts for classical newcomers, the Bergen Philharmonic under Andrew Litton offer two classics: Mendelssohn’s lyrical and energetic Violin Concerto (with soloist Alina Ibragimova) and Stravinsky’s game-changing ballet score ‘The Rite of Spring’. Plus, two new pieces: ‘preSage’ by Norway’s Ørjan Matre and the world premiere of ‘Bergen’s Bonfire’ by rising star Russian-British composer Alissa Firsova.
