Built To Spill

Doug Martsch’s cult guitar trio give London a full blast of their grungy, lurching post-hardcore. Although they probably peaked with 1999’s ‘Keep It Like A Secret’, their recent material’s been well worth a listen, and Martsch has always had a beguiling way with transcendent guitar solos and bittersweet anthems.

Built to spill were fantastic, really strong set. I came down from Bristol to see them play, was disgusted at how miserably pretentious the London crowd was; not a single head in the sold out venue was even nodding, all just standing arms crossed. Safe to say i'll be avoiding seeing great bands in London again if I can help it; certainly never want to play there myself. GET OVER YOURSELVES, ENJOY THE GIG!
