Carol Grimes/Dorian Ford Big Band

A spirited jazz and blues singer, Grimes's rough-edged delivery on ballads is a delight, while she kicks-in on the faster numbers to exciting effect. A stalwart from her days as a key figure on the proggy Canterbury '60s scene (alongside the likes of Cream and The Yardbirds) she's backed here by talented Bill Evans-influenced pianist Ford and his hard-swinging big band.
