Britten Sinfonia presents a concert featuring the artistry of musicians from different backgrounds: Norwegian jazz trumpeter Arve Henriksen, whose soulful music reflects the landscapes of the North, merging collages and delicate sound-palettes, and Joanna MacGregor, whose virtuosity is showcased in James MacMillan's sensationally wild, Celtic-inspired Piano Concerto No 2. The programme also includes new arrangements from Arve's acclaimed ECM album 'Cartography', as well as MacGregor's orchestral work inspired by the poetic blues of the Deep South, 'Deep River'. (Note: at 6.15pm in QEH, a pre-concert talk; free.)
