Baby-faced Rhode Island Americana five-piece Deer Tick return to the capital with their bluesy alt-country and Tom Petty-ish vocals, courtesy of frontman John McCauley. There's a touch of The Stones' 'Wild Horses' in McCauley's deeply affecting lyricism, which on their new (fifth) album 'Negativity', deals with a failed engagement and the incarceration of McCauley's father.
