Docklands Sinfonia: Against the Odds

Docklands Sinfonia under Spencer Down presents works by composers who have fought for their music to see the light of day. It begins with the UK premiere of Persian composer Mehran Rouhani's 'Sinfonietta Synthetical' (he has never had his orchestral music performed in his native Iran); then the world premiere of 'Memento', a new ballet work by British composer Jeremy Holland-Smith (with the AD Dance Company under choreographer Holly Noble); and Shostakovich's heroic Symphony No 5 in D minor.
