Join composer, conductor and lecturer Eric Whitacre at his first Soaring Leap event in the UK, offering an opportunity for choral singers, soloists, music directors, composers, conductors, writers and music-lovers to come together in a one-day workshop exploring his compositions, performance styles and techniques. Whitacre is joined by poet, lyricist and historian Charles Anthony Silvestri. Elin Manahan Thomas (sopranos) runs a masterclass with pianist Christopher Glynn. Repertoire to include Whitacre's 'Lux aurumque'; 'Sleep'; 'A boy and a girl'; 'Animal Crackers'; 'The Seal Lullaby'; 'Five Hebrew Love Songs'; and 'I walked the boulevard'. (Music is provided.)
