This is the the last of three concerts placing top folk musicians in the poignant environs of the Foundling Museum and its beautiful Picture Gallery. An incredibly influential folk singer with a mesmerising narrative guitar style, Carthy has a ballad for every occasion, so be ready for tales of forlorn mothers and abandoned babes. He’s supported by Mann, who’s one third of fascinating avant-folk and improv trio Dead Rat Orchestra, and is just as good on the phonofiddle and the meat cleaver as he is on the the ukulele or the bells.
