Dave Grohl – the Nicest Man in Rock (official) – and his gang return with their stadium-slaying mix of hook-filled, '70s-style pop, sleek nu-metal and classic, riff-stacked rock in the headline slot. Expect to hear stone-cold, modern classics such as 'Everlong' 'Best of You', 'My Hero' and 'Monkey Wrench', plus hopefully a taster of their follow-up to 2007's 'Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace', which is halfway through recording and features former Nirvana bassist, Krist Novoselic. Support from now insanely popular Glaswegian grunge-pop trio Biffy Clyro, on the second of two dates. Plus Arizona's JEW with their catchy mix of upbeat pop-punk and alterno-rock balladry, plus The Hot Rats, ie Supergrass's Gaz and Danny with Nigel Godrich, who play psych-popping reworkings of rock classics.
