Billed as ‘the Super Bowl of music’ and ‘the Disneyland of festivals’, Rock in Rio Lisbon is a bucket-list item for music lovers the world over. And isn’t it about time you ticked it off – while using the event as the perfect excuse to explore Portugal’s capital, of course?

Bringing serious vibes to one of Europe’s most beautiful, creative and historic cities every other year, the festival returns this June across two weekends (June 20-21 and June 27-28). Rock in Rio Lisbon 2026 promises to be bigger and better than ever, marking 22 years in Portugal, almost as impressive as its 42-year history in Rio, where it began in 1985.

Easily one of Europe’s biggest festivals, the stages will be star-studded, to say the least. Think: Katy Perry and Linkin Park, Rod Stewart and 21 Savage for a truly generation-spanning headline bill – not to mention Cypress Hill, Kaiser Chiefs, Central Cee, Charlie Puth, Shaggy, Cyndi Lauper, Joss Stone, Audrey Nuna – the voice of Mira in K Pop Demon Hunters – and so many more. And thanks to the festival’s stunning location, you’re pretty much guaranteed great weather and an unbeatable sunset backdrop over the Tagus River every night.

Taking place at the City of Rock in Parque Tejo, the double weekender features a dedicated Rock Day (June 21) and Legends Day (June 27), as well as the biggest day for rap and Afrobeats in the festival’s history (June 28), so every musical taste is catered for. Catch the likes of The Pretty Reckless, Hookbastank and Sepultura on the first weekend and Rema, The Wailers and 4 Non Blondes on the second. Really, the question we should be asking is, who isn’t on the bill here?

And if you’re anything like us, you’ll want to experience the festival like a true rock star. In which case, one of the hospitality packages might be right up your street. These include everything from tickets and hotels to experiences and transfers, as well as access to the Comfort Zone, an exclusive new area that gets you seriously close to the World Stage with booze delivered via dedicated servers. There’s also the VIP area, which is even closer to the action and comes with air-conditioning and shade (essential!), super-comfy lounge areas and both indoor and outdoor balconies. And, of course, there’s plenty to eat and drink whenever you want it, meaning you can essentially build your own rider. Mariah Carey, eat your heart out.

More than most festivals, Rock In Rio Lisbon puts the crowd at the centre of every experience – where else can you ride a zipline across the front of the main stage and become part of the performance?! Also, ahead of the festival, people from across the globe have had the chance to leave messages for a better world to be projected onto the World Stage between acts. Keep an eye out for their words of positivity, hope and unity – and perhaps even spot your own. Demonstrating the power of collective strength, it’s all part of the festival’s Stage for Dreams campaign, which saw Rock in Rio Lisbon pop-up in various locations including London for everyone to get involved. Plus, look out for something new this year, as fans will be treated to an incredible new aerobatic airshow everyday called The Flight – the sky is not the limit when it comes to Rock In Rio Lisbon putting on a memorable show!

Rock on.

Rock in Rio Lisbon takes place June 20-21 and 27-28 2026 at the City of Rock in Parque Tejo, Lisbon. With June 21 already sold out, make sure you buy your tickets now.
