The Amphion Consort (Jennifer Bennett, violin/viola d'amore, Dorian Bandy, violin/viola d'amore, Ibi Aziz, viola da gamba, and Yair Avidor, theorbo) performs trio sonatas by Heinrich Biber, one of the most original composers of the seventeenth century. They are scored for two violins, in unusual tuning, and the rarely heard viola d'amore, with the addition of the theorbo, a long- necked lute.
