London chamber choir Londinium directed by Andrew Griffiths explores the hidden world of Brahms's choral music – including the exquisite, elusive 'Fünf Gesänge', Op 104, and the virtuosic 'Fest- und Gedenksprüche' – alongside early music from Brahms's personal library, by Gabrieli, Eccard and Schütz, and works by his close friend Robert Schumann and his contemporary Peter Cornelius. Plus, the premiere Timothy Burke's 'Distanz und ein bestimmtes Licht' (which was inspired by Brahms's 'Fünf Gesänge' and written especially for this concert).
