Houston Person

Born in South Carolina in 1934, hard bop saxophonist Houston Person first established himself through a seris of acclaimed albums in the 1960s for the Prestigie label. His long standing musical partnership with singer Etta James meant he was often overlooked as a sax star in his own right, which he is, and this is a rare chance to hear one of the original soulful bop stylists here for two nights.
