Jamie Brownfield, Nova Scotia Jazz Band, Fat Sam's Band, TJ Johnson Band, Richard White's Fivers, Bobby Wishart Group. In the beautiful town of Rothesay, which can be reached by hopping a ferry from the mainland at Wemyss Bay and takes about 35 minutes, is the Isle of Bute Jazz festival. Held in various venues, you'll be able to see the likes of 20-year-old Welsh trumpeter Brownfield mining a classic sound close to the swing stylists of the 1930s, and vocalist/pianist Johnson leading his soulful jazz and R&B band in stunning, green surroundings. Plus, on Saturday there will be the annual jazz parade through the town, which involves numerous members from the acts playing over the weekend.
