Jarboe

There are few more abrasive acts than New York no-wave pioneers Swans, but when Jarboe joined them in 1985 she added a somehow darker edge to their already bleak musical aesthetic. Since then she has gone on to release over 20 solo albums in a variety of styles, and collaborated with the likes of doom masters Neurosis. Her booming voice is the main attraction and the music is always dark and heavily experimental.
