Joe Lovano/Us Five

US tenorist Lovano is a real musician's musician – a player whose big, friendly tone is set against a cerebral, difficult improvisatory style. He matches his highly sophisticated solos with a restless creativity and continually evolving stylistic output. Thus tonight he's joined by a youthful band, starring bassist Peter Slavov, James Weidman on piano, and double drummers Otis Brown and Francisco Mela.
