This heavyweight Canadian/UK/US line up showcases no less than three generations of jazz luminaries – not least the enduring capabilities of celebrated octogenarian trumpeter Wheeler, who still sounds wonderful at 81. Luminous ECM-piano icon Taylor is the linkman here to the fiery sax work of emergent US alto star Irabagon and bassist Mike Janisch. This dynamite band will play Wheeler's lyrical originals with a killer swing feel, here on the second of two nights.
