Entitled 'L'Amour à la française. Part 1: J'irai conter fleurette' (from old French meaning to court someone), this recital includes songs by Gounod, Berlioz, Massenet, Godard, Lalo, Chabrier, Delibes, Chausson, Saint-Saëns and Bizet within the themes of love and the countryside in the 19th century. Performed by Sónia Grané (soprano), Kerri-Iynne Dietz (mezzo-soprano), Oliver Johnston (tenor) and Samuel Pantcheff (baritone), accompanied by pianist Edwige Herchenroder. The concert is part of our retrospective series dedicated to French classical music, entitled "A French Musical Journey from Couperin to Boulez" and will be introduced by Dame Felicity Lott.
