Our online poll to find London’s favourite music venue has now closed. The winner will be announced at the London Music Awards on June 11.

How did the vote work?

We created a shortlist of the 100 most viewed London music venues on the Time Out site, and put them into a poll hosted by Ranker.com for the public voting phase. Our online ranker poll was open for almost a month, and closed on May 17 2015. The Ranker.com algorithm automatically calculates up-votes and down-votes and regularly deletes duplicate votes and other irregularities. See the Ranker.com FAQ for more information.

What are the London Music Awards?

As you can probably guess, they’re awards that celebrate the dizzyingly diverse and ever-vibrant London music scene. Organised by the Mayor’s Music Fund, the first London Music Awards took place in 2014. This year’s ceremony will happen at the Roundhouse on June 11, with 12 award categories ranging from ‘London Legend’ to rising stars in five different genres.

What is the Mayor’s Music Fund?

It’s an independent charity that helps London children develop their musical potential. With the Mayor as its patron, the Fund creates scholarships and partnerships to mentor kids across the city, and provides the instruments they need to develop their skills.

What has Time Out got to do with it?

For the second year running, we’re running the vote to find London’s favourite music venue. Our shortlist of venues covers everything from classical concert halls to basement clubs, taking in pubs, churches, arts centres and theatres along the way. In the face of so many venues’ closure over the last few years, we want to celebrate the places that make London the best city in the world for live music.

Which venue won last year?

The Union Chapel in Islington won our 2014 poll of London’s best music venues, closely followed by Cecil Sharp House and the Barbican.
