A founder of South Africa's legendary Blue Notes, who relocated to London in the 1970s, Moholo is a master drummer. He reels off a jazz swing as easily as African polyrhythms and free improvisations, and in the past, he's worked with the likes of pianist Keith Tippett, ECM trumpeter Kenny Wheeler and Working Week saxophonist Larry Stabbins. Tonight he plays two sets, a duo set with pianist Hawkins and a quartet setting with pianist Beresford, bassist Viltard and superb multi-reedist Hutchings.
