Maria Muldaur is a veteran of the New York Village folk scene, starting back when folk artists made a point of being well versed in the blues and jazz that are the bedrock of American music. Muldaur's latest disc, 2011's Steady Love, dipped into swampy New Orleans–style roots rock, so expect to hear her working in a similar vein here.
