Ailish Tynan (soprano) and Yann Beuron (tenor), accompanied by pianist Graham Johnson.
The second in Graham Johnson's French Song Series, sees the pursuits of the idle rich, so ardently cultivated by French aristocrats in the decades before the Revolution, recalled in works including Debussy's youthful first book of 'Fêtes galantes', erotically charged settings of verse by Paul Verlaine.
Plus, song settings by Ravel, Dupont, Hahn, Fauré, Chausson, Massenet, Vierne and Vaughan Wiliams.
(Note: at 6pm, a pre-concert talk: Roderick Swanston explores the music in the evening concert; £3.)
