Mayer Hawthorne

This Ann Arbor native counts Isaac Hayes, Leroy Hutson and Barry White among his influences, but draws the most inspiration from Smokey Robinson, Curtis Mayfield, and the legendary songwriting and production trio of Holland/Dozier/Holland. His lush and infectious, retro-modernist soul is showcased on his latest album, ‘Where Does This Door Go’.
