Timothy Lines directs New Perspectives in a celebration of the thirtieth anniversaries of two impressive works of modern times, which were premiered within a week of each other in 1982. Jonathan Harvey’s 'Bhakti' for 15 players and quadrophonic tape is a reflective, spiritual exploration of ancient Sanskrit hymns, and creates a quite unique sound world. Inspired by a Turner painting, George Benjamin’s 'At First Light' is a celebration of the dawn. Plus, the world premiere of Toby Nelms's 'Ngalyod'. (Note: at 6.30pm a pre-concert talk by Timothy Lines.)
