Nick Ramm/Zhenya Strigalev Quartet

Edgy keyboard/alto-sax led project from these two highly versatile players – Ramm has sessioned with everyone from Cinematic Orchestra to Tom Jones while his jazz credentials include Seb Rochford's Fulborn Teversham band – while Strigalev is a firebrand soloist who's worked many top US and UK jazz players. Here they mix Eastern European melodies and rhythms with angular modern improv to stinging effect.
