Funky, highly rhythmic vibist Robinson, best known for his stirling work with the Jazz Warriors, dives back into a modern take on hard swinging original material with help from superb UK-based US sax dynamo Jean Toussaint in an all new band. Support comes from charismatic Mancunian trumpter Halsall with his 'Kind Of Blue'-ish meets Coltrane sound. With a sparse yet warm sound Halsall's highly lyrical melodies and spacious grooves are a breath of fresh air, all helped along by a band that features harpist Rachel Gladwin and flautist/altoist Chip Wickham.
