Graceful, fleet-fingered hard bop guitar virtuoso who played with many grits 'n' gravy organ trios – Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff – and made a few interesting Indo-jazz albums. In 1980 he had to completely relearn the guitar after a brain aneurysm. Here he plays from his recent Blue Note album 'Remembering Wes' a fine tribute to influential guitarist Wes Montgomery.
