Prom 66: St Matthew Passion

JS Bach’s best-loved oratorio is presented in the staged version by American director Peter Sellars. It is given by a stellar cast – tenor Mark Padmore (Evangelist) and baritone Christian Gerhaher (Christus), with other soloists including soprano Camilla Tilling and mezzo Magdalena Kozená. The orchestra? Only the Berlin Philharmonic under Sir Simon Rattle.
