Shabaka Hutchings's 'Babylon'

The saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings joins the BBC Concert Orchestra under Keith Lockhart, with Jason Singh, Leafcutter John, Sons of Kemet, and cellist Benjamin Hughes.

Dave Heath's Rhapsody; Friedrich Gulda's Concerto for cello and wind orchestra; Shabaka Hutchings's Babylon (world premiere); and set by Sons of Kemet.

(In this special one-off BBC Radio 3 commission, Babylon', Shabaka Hutchings, saxophonist, composer and BBC Radio 3 New Generation artist, joins forces with the BBC Concert Orchestra, for an ambitious amalgamation of jazz, minimalist classical music and electronica.)

Afterwards, there's a chance to meet the orchestral musicians in the bar and ask them questions in a friendly setting.
