Shoji Hano

Cult Japanese improv drummer Hano is best known for his explosive collaborations with German sax terrorizer Peter Brotzmann as well as being part of legendary distortion heavy pysche rockers High Rise. He appears in a solo setting here taking inspiration from traditional Taiko drumming, where hypnotic long form pieces last up to 25 minutes, building in speed and intensity to a grand finale.
