Clapham Common’s dance music festival attracts superstar DJs from across the globe

Clapham Common’s bank holiday dance music explosion returns for another weekend of big drops, club anthems and arms in the air. If you’re longing for superstar DJs but can’t afford Ibiza and are loath to spend the last days of summer in a dark room, head to SW4 for your fix of big-room house, EDM, electro, techno, trance and grime, as well as other genres creeping in from all angles. The 2020 line-up is typically bangin', boasting Major Lazer, The Streets, Kano and – for the first time – a couple of ‘afternoon headliners’ in the form of Kelis and Stefflon Don.

Line-up includes:

Fri Aug 28: Armin Van Buuren, Andrew Rayel, Ben Gold, Ferry Corsten, Bryan Kearney.

Sat Aug 29: Major Lazer, Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Kelis, Alesso, Rudimental’s Major Toms, DJ Ez, Ghetts, Jonas Blue, Goldfish Live.

Sun Aug 30: The Streets, Krept x Konan, Raye, TS5, Stefflon Don, Andy C, Example, Ms Banks, Steel Bangles, Sub Focus, Wilkinson.

Even though I had to battle with a day of torrential rain, my first experience of SW4 was good. There was a queue to get in, even though the security and searches were minimal (hence the initial soaking!) but the variety of acts and styles of music does make this festival worth the price of entry. The drinks selection was also good, with craft beers dotted in amongst the more generic offering however the food could be better as everything that we tried as a group was expensive and poor quality. Chase and Status definitely made it worth it!

It was my third year going to SW4 festival and despite being the exact polar opposite weather to last year which was scorching hot, the rain and mud didn't put a damper on the day. With wellies on we danced the night away to Hannah Wants, Basement Jaxx and of course the legends that are Chase and Status. My one complaint and suggestion for the day is to get there WAY earlier than the time in which the act you want to see is playing - the queue is painfully slow and they herd you in like cattle so sadly we missed Craig David's TS5 set. But all in all, already looking forward to next year!

A fabulous festival - one of my favourite days this year. Took a while in the queue to get in, but once inside had an amazing time. Good range of music and never had to queue too long to get a drink or go to the toilet, both very important things! Rudimental and Andy C were both amazing. Great venue. Would definitely attend again!
