A little confusing, is the fact that the Southport Weekender is in fact not in Southport, but in Minehead Somerset, and used to take place bi-annually, but is settling to one weekend in May from 2011. With the comfort of the beds, bathrooms and kitchens in the chalets at the Butlins resort, you'll feel free to get as sweaty/dirty/frazzled as you like at this three-day festival of soul and dance music. Saadiq –one third of Tony Toni Tone and the writer/producer behind hits by Whitney, Erykah, Kelis and Mos Def – headlines along with house DJ Sanchez and the ambassador for hip hop since the mid-'70s, the Grandmaster.
