Highly charged US fusion supergroup Vital Information have built up quite a live reputation for negotiating tricksy time-signature changes, heavy-duty jazz-rock solos and all sorts of Yellowjackets-style funk grooves. Former Journey drummer Steve Smith leads, with muso's favourite Frank Gambale on guitar (complete with his trademark heavy metal pants and boots), Santana's Tom Costa on keyboards and Steps Ahead man Jeff Andrews on bass. It's all a bit full-on chops a-go-go, but, they are very good at what they do.
