A full day of vocal workshops, debates and performances, includes at 9.30am (Front Room, QEH) with a combined body and vocal warm-up to get your voice into shape, led by Voicelab Director Mary King, and yoga expert Rachel Glendinning. At 11am, The British Voice Association Roadshow –an accessible, fascinating and multi-disciplinary look at the voice, with a range of speakers from the worlds of voice teaching, speech therapy and laryngology. Organised by the British Voice Association, whose remit is the encouragement of a healthy voice, vocal skills and communication. At 5.15pm , 'Singing for Social Change', a discussion event focusing on a range of recent initiatives across different social contexts that have used singing as a means of empowerment, community-building and raising self-esteem. Then, at 6.15pm, in its twentieth-anniversary year, the London Gay Men's Chorus performs a varied and demanding repertoire, from Verdi's shattering 'Dies Irae' to the Beach Boys' 'Good Vibrations'. Finally, at 7pm, it's Only Men Aloud But Women Can Join In Too, with the chance for everyone to learn and perform a song with Only Men Aloud's music director Tim Rhys Evans and Voicelab's Mary King.
