Telemann’s ‘Gulliver’s Travels’

Time Out says

Jonathan Swift published his 'Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World, in Four Parts' in 1726. Two years later, Georg Philipp Telemann composed the first and most original musical response to this extraordinary book. Telemann's duo is one of the most colourful, witty, and orginal works of the eighteenth century, including, appropriately enough, the shortest and fastest chaconne ever written, for the Lilliputions.

Violinists of the Kreutzer Quartet, Peter Sheppard Skærved and Mihailo Trandafilovski, play the work, along with musical miniatures from the eighteenth and twenty-first centuries, and Swift's words. Plus, pieces by Leopold Mozart, Judith Bingham, Mihailo Trandafilovski and others.
