The classy choir Tenebrae directed by Nigel Short presents French choral music offering penance and praise from across the centuries. The programme compares and contrasts the various styles of medieval Pérotin and Renaissance Brumel to the twentieth century sounds of Duruflé, Messiaen and Poulenc.
