Venue says Join us for live music up to seven nights a week (check our listings), plus late club events every Friday and Saturday night until 4am.

You haven't 'done' Soho until you've been to a gig at The Borderline, simple as. This much-loved venue with a loyal audience has given a platform to countless bands and artists throughout its long history – stretching back over 20 years – and is still going strong today, showcasing both new and revered talent. Head in for a gig on any given day and you could find yourself moshing to rock and metal, getting busy on the dancefloor at an indie club night or perhaps soaking up the sweet tone of a folk, blues or Americana singer-songwriter.

It can get a little cramped when the 275-ish capacity fills up, but that's all the better for creating an intimate atmospherewhere between artist and audience, and means you won't have to worry about elbowing your way to the front past thousands of people. A Soho musical institution.

We were there when The Borderline reopened in March 2017:

Most of these reviews are old and from before it was re opened - the door staff are violently intimidating and the manager is rude power happy.

This wonderful hidden gem in Soho is everything I love about Soho wrapped up in 1 venue!  Small, hidden and so much fun! I went there to see a band and everything about the set up was wonderful. Great bar, good decor, and a great vibe. I will definitely be back for another night out!

This place was great before, now it's even better! Looks swanky as hell, always a good time :D

Great Venue for live music and club nights! revamp looks amazing! A must go to venue

My favourite central london venue for both live and club music! Heaps of history, refurb is a welcome refresh and there aren't any other clubs that stay open 'til 4am in the area that I know of. (Y)

Whether it's a gig or a night out, Borderline is one of the best places in London and looks even nicer after their refurb!

Havn't been for over 20 years, but glad the new generation are getting it on down at the Borderline, long may it continue.

Dirrty at The Borderline on Thursdays is amazing. Rnb and Hip Hop buffs will love this, and has a mixed, lively crowd. Great venue, great music.

Great, buzzing venue, always good for a night out. Usually has drinks deals on and is in a brilliant location, just round the corner from Tottenham Court Road station. On club nights, the music is reassuringly different from standard central London club music fare - slanted towards indie and alternative, the selection ranges from The Libertines to The Smiths, Joy Division to Talking Heads.

Usually opens late and goes on till late, so if you're at a loss, I'd recommend going for drinks at The George beforehand - a boozer that is a couple of minutes away and always has a good ambience.

Decent music venue just off Charing Cross Road. Very easy to get to if you're working in central London. Keep a look out for who's playing.
