With At The Drive-In poised to break their 11-year silence (no doubt very noisily), Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez tour as their other project, post-hardcore kids-turned-Mahavishnu Orchestra-styled prog rockers The Mars Volta. Prone to clever, wiggy workouts and the odd indulgent drum solo, they're promoting sixth studio album, 'Noctourniquet', an unpredictable but accessible prog maelstrom.
