The Thing

Terrifyingly ferocious post-jazz trio of sax-incinerator Mats Gustafsson (also adding electronics), and monster rhythm section of bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (and electronics) and drum powerhouse Paal Nilssen-Love here return to London after last year's first UK dates in ten years. Dismantling a diverse set of tunes – from the White Stripes to Ornette Coleman – and their own terse originals, this is fire music of the first order. First of two nights.
