The Thirteenth Assembly: Taylor Ho Bynum/Mary Halvorson/Jessica Pavone/Tomas Fuj

Cornet/guiar-led contemporary jazz from this powerful group led by NYC-based horn man/composer Bynum, a younger contemporary of leading US trumpter Dave Douglas, and rising star guiarist Halvorson. They combine on angular Downtown-ish material taking in folk, classical, rock and avant garde sounds. This fine freewheeling group also features violist Pavone and drummer Fujiwara, here playing from their latest album 'Station Direct'.
