Iconic New York downtown saxophonist Berne (a firm favourite at the Vortex and a profound influence on the likes of Led Bib, Troyka and MA) appears here with his ECM-signed chamber jazz project. While they may be less abrasive than his usual metal-edged improv units, this music still twists and turns in strange and beautiful new ways.
