Award-winning roots duo highly regarded for their fiery performances play a free lunch-time set. McConville – winner of the BBC Folk Musician of the Year gong in 2009 – is a Geordie fiddler who blends the traditional music of his home with Irish-American and Scottish influences, while guitarist Newey favours both the flatpick and fingerstyle techniques, and blurs the boundaries between acoustic and electric styles, ranging across rock, jazz and country.
